Superchargers and Turbochargers Phoenix Arizona | NOS and High Performance Systems by Automotive Diagnostic Specialties Chandler AZ
Superchargers and turbochargers force additional air into the engine to increase performance. The differences between turbochargers and superchargers lie within the method they use to do the job. A turbocharger is driven by exhaust gas pressure as the engine runs, whereas a supercharger is driven by the engines internal rotating assembly via a belt. It is well-known throughout the performance community that any load added to the engines rotating assembly (ie: alternator, power steering pump, etc.) will reduce horsepower. This means that the supercharger will have to overcome a loss in performance before any gains are realized. A turbocharger does not add any load to the engine, which means all performance increases will be realized 100%.
A Nitrous Oxide System (NOS) is an affordable way to add on-demand horsepower at the push of a button. Imagine flipping the switch to deliver an extra 150-horsepower to your motor! The professionals at ADS can instruct you on the benefits of each system, so you can make the best choice for your high-performance application. |
